Vittorio Santoro *1962

What are your origins?
My parents are Italian (from Siracusa, Sicily). I was born in Zurich and have lived in different countries

Officially, you are a citizen of which country?
Italian and Swiss

Where are the places that you have lived for more than 6 months?
Zurich, Amsterdam, New York, Berlin, Paris, Tangier (Morocco), Siracusa (Sicily)

Where do you live and work right now?

Is [the country you are living in now] your final destination? If not, then where else?
I have been living in Paris for two years, and I kind of like it …. because of my work, I will probably try to have a studio in London in the following years

Name 3 changes you would like to see of Switzerland? (please answer even if you don’t live in Switzerland)
a. I would very much like that the people in Switzerland (especially in the so called art world) would gain more self esteem. In Switzerland we have worked out remarkable achievements in any possible fields. In Switzerland living people should be more aware of that. Acknowledging his/her own capacities its not necessarily the same of being arrogant and a prick

b. To abandon the idea the Switzerland should be like an “Indian Reserve”, a place where you put endangers species

c. To abandon an exasperate diplomatic behavior and try to communicate more directly with people

If you are living elsewhere, name 3 changes you would like to see of that country you are living in now.
a. Would be a lot of things, but I try to deal with them on a daily basis

What is your favourite recipe?
Bucatini al’matriciana (pasta), thai green curry, Tagine ….(not necessarily in this order)
